Wiltshire Waterway Festival

Templar's Firs

Wootton Bassett

Celebrating 25 years of canal restoration by the Wilts & Berks Canal Amenity Group and now the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust.
This was a family event designed to introduce everyone to the pleasures of a restored waterway.
It was very successful in spite of the terrible weather in the weeks leading up to the date and the fact that the England football team was playing a World Cup match on Saturday, followed by Ireland on Sunday.
An estimated 5000 people came to the Festival.  As before the boat trips proved to be one of the most popular attractions with three boats running continually up and down the mile of canal.
